Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang showed off a £1million Ferrari after he scored twice during Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Leicester. Aubameyang, who pockets £180.000-per-week at the Emirates, appears to have added the stunning red supercar to his growing car collection.
The Gunners ace has previously been spotted in a gold Range Rover, a Lamborghini Aventador and a modified Mercedes. But his latest purchase, which can reach 60mph in just 2.9 seconds, is the best of the bunch. Auba’s new £1million ‘LaFerrari’ is one of the most sought-after cars on the planet.
The LaFerrari – which literally means ‘The Ferrari’ – is the Italian marque’s attempt at building the definitive hybrid sports car and just 499 have been made. The car bursts with technology borrowed from Ferrari’s Formula One team and its 6.3-litre V12 engine is capable of 950bhp and a top speed of at least 227mph.
One F1 reference is that many of the control buttons are mounted on the steering wheel, while the seats and interior have to be custom-sculpted to the individual driver.
The V12 has been optimized for high-rev horsepower, the resulting hole in the torque curve (the V12 engine doesn’t do its best work until north of 5.000rpm) filled by the electric motor. That means instant throttle response, razored responses and the most natural-feeling hybrid in existence. In terms of on-road driving, after a while, and if you can forget the limited-edition status and million pound pricetag for long enough, it’s no more intimidating to drive than a 458.
Active aerodynamics see front and rear diffusers, an underbody guide vane and a rear spoiler all react and deploy automatically when driving conditions require. This generates downforce without unnecessarily compromising the car’s drag coefficient. Simply awesome!
